Speech On World Environment Day
Dear Principal Sir, teachers, and all my dear friends, I am honored to speak on the occasion of World Environment Day, and I would like to express my gratitude for this opportunity.
As you know, World Environment Day is observed on the 5th of June to promote awareness about the environment and to highlight the harm caused to it by human activities. It is a day to remind us of our accountability for the damage we inflict on the environment and to generate a sense of responsibility towards protecting it.
We must collectively strive to preserve the environment, and this can only be achieved through the efforts of both individuals and governments. World Environment Day addresses issues related to various environmental factors such as water, oceans, rivers, animals, plants, rain, global warming, climate change, glacier melts, and coral reefs.
Therefore, I urge you all to participate in the events and activities related to World Environment Day in your own capacity, no matter where you are. Even forwarding a simple message for environmental protection from your smartphone can change a few minds and contribute to the cause.
In conclusion, I hope that my speech has helped you understand the significance of World Environment Day, and I thank you for your attention.
Speech On World Environment Day Alternative 1
Good morning everyone! I extend a warm welcome to the Principal Sir/Madam and teachers. Today, we are here to discuss an important global observance that is gaining popularity with each passing year.
Can you guess what it is, my educated and intelligent audience? That’s right, friends! Today, we will be talking about World Environment Day. This day has been observed annually throughout the world on the 5th of June since its inception in 1974 under the guidance of the United Nations.
Each year, the United Nations chooses a particular host country and a theme related to a specific environmental concern. This theme helps raise awareness among people about the impact of human activities on the environment.
We must understand that we are all connected to the environment. The air we breathe, the water we drink, and the food we eat all come from the environment. Any damage to the environment can directly affect our health and well-being.
If we continue to damage the environment, we are essentially digging our own grave. We must realize the importance of protecting the environment and take active steps towards it.
Events like World Environment Day are crucial in creating awareness about environmental issues and urging people and governments to take action. We must all participate in such events and support them in any way we can, whether financially or logistically.
In conclusion, I hope my speech has helped you understand the significance of World Environment Day. Let us all adopt a zero-tolerance attitude towards environmental damage and take steps to protect our planet. Thank you.

Speech On World Environment Day Alternative 2
Good morning Principal Sir/Madam, respected teachers, and my dear friends. Today, on 5th June, we celebrate World Environment Day, and I am privileged to deliver a speech on this crucial topic. I am grateful to Principal Sir/Madam and my class teacher, Mr./Mrs.——–, for giving me this opportunity.
As we all know, the environment is a vast and important topic. Hence, I have decided to cover the history, events, and significance of World Environment Day in my speech.
The idea of World Environment Day originated during the United Nations Conference on the Human Environment in Stockholm, Sweden, held from June 5 to 16 in 1972. The conference aimed to focus on human intervention and its impacts on the environment.
As a result, it was decided that a World Environment Day would be celebrated to raise awareness about the effects of human activities on the environment. The first World Environment Day was observed in 1974, and since then, it has been celebrated annually as a flagship campaign for the protection and promotion of the environment, sponsored by the United Nations.
World Environment Day addresses all aspects of the environment that are affected by human activities, such as marine populations, oceans, forests, animals, reptiles, and water bodies. It also tackles issues such as overpopulation and global warming, which have an impact on the environment and its ability to sustain life.
The event provides a global platform for the environmental cause and brings governments and people together to elevate the protection of the environment. Each year, the UN assigns a specific theme for the events. In previous years, themes have included “time for nature” in 2020 and “beat air pollution” in 2019.
Additionally, a country is chosen to host the events every year. India has had the honor of hosting the World Environment Day twice, first in 2011 and then in 2018, with themes of “Forests – Nature at your service” and “Beat Plastic Pollution,” respectively.
The 2018 World Environment Day was particularly significant for India as the government pledged to eliminate single-use plastic entirely by 2020, a commendable initiative to reduce environmental damage.
World Environment Day has been successful in bringing people together and raising awareness about environmental issues. Individuals are becoming more mindful of the damage they cause to the environment, and they are taking steps to reduce it.
Our future generations’ well-being and longevity depend on protecting and preserving the environment, including the soil, water, mountains, animals, and fishes that make up our home. I hope that my speech has increased your knowledge and awareness of the environment and the damage we inflict on it, knowingly or unknowingly. Thank you.

Presentation on world environment day
Dear all,
Good morning! I am honored to be given the opportunity to speak about an issue that is of utmost importance to us all, the environment.
Today, we are celebrating World Environment Day, a day dedicated to raising awareness and promoting action towards environmental protection. This day is observed on 5th June every year and is organized under the guidance of the United Nations.
The world environment day is a reminder for all of us to take responsibility for the health of our planet. The environment is our home, and we need to take care of it. It provides us with the air we breathe, the water we drink, the food we eat, and the resources we use to power our economies.
Unfortunately, our actions have led to severe environmental problems such as air and water pollution, climate change, deforestation, loss of biodiversity, and plastic pollution, to name a few. These problems are causing irreparable damage to the planet, threatening our health and well-being, and those of future generations.
The theme for this year’s World Environment Day is “Ecosystem Restoration.” This theme emphasizes the importance of restoring damaged ecosystems such as forests, wetlands, and coral reefs. By doing so, we can not only protect biodiversity but also reduce the impact of climate change, improve food security, and create jobs.
But restoring ecosystems is not just the responsibility of governments and organizations. It is also our responsibility as individuals. We can make a difference by reducing our carbon footprint, conserving water, using renewable energy, reducing plastic use, and planting trees.
It is important to remember that small actions can make a big difference. Recycling, using public transportation or cycling instead of driving, using reusable bags and bottles, and turning off lights when not in use are just a few examples of small actions that can have a significant impact on the environment.
On this World Environment Day, let us pledge to take action and make changes in our lives to protect our environment. We can no longer afford to ignore the signs of environmental degradation. Let us work together to restore our ecosystems, protect our planet, and create a sustainable future for ourselves and future generations.
Thank you.
I hope you all understand the Speech. If You need any help, you can comment to us. There is no problem. Have a nice Day!
