Speech On Lal Bahadur Shastri
Good morning, everyone! Today, I’ll talk about a great person named Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri. He was our country’s former Prime Minister and a freedom fighter. When he was young, his father passed away, so he was raised by his mother and grandfather.
As a kid, Shastri joined a group called the Indian National Congress because he loved his country a lot. In 1935, he became an important member of the Uttar Pradesh Provincial Committee. Later, in 1937, he campaigned for the Uttar Pradesh Assembly.
Many national leaders were impressed by his kindness, honesty, and how much he cared about his country. In 1952, he became a member of the Rajya Sabha. He also had important jobs in the government, like being the Minister for the Transport Union and Railways.
However, in 1962, he resigned from his position because he felt responsible for some problems. During the Indo-Pak war in 1965, he came up with a powerful slogan, ‘Jai Jawan Jai Kisan,’ to honor the soldiers and farmers who play vital roles in our nation.
Sadly, Shastri passed away on January 11, 1966, due to a heart attack. Even though he is no longer with us, his country recognized his greatness by posthumously awarding him the Bharat Ratna, a prestigious award.
Shastri was an incredible leader and a very good person. Thank you for listening!
Long Speech On Lal Bahadur Shastri 600 Words In English
Good morning, everyone!
Today, I want to talk about a great leader from India, Sri Lal Bahadur Shastri. He was born on 2nd October 1904 in Uttar Pradesh. His father was a school teacher, and his mother’s name was Ramdulari Devi.
Shastri ji wanted to help India gain freedom, and he was inspired by Mahatma Gandhi’s speech at Banaras Hindu University. He joined the freedom movement and became a follower of Gandhi ji’s teachings.
After India became independent in 1947, he held important positions like Transport and Home Minister and later became the Railway Minister. When Jawaharlal Nehru passed away, Shastri ji became the Prime Minister for a short time.
He was a wise and humble man, which is why he was called “Shastri,” meaning a great scholar. He received the Bharat Ratna, a prestigious award, and is famous for his slogan “Jai Jawan Jai Kisan,” honoring the soldiers and farmers.
Shastri ji worked hard to solve problems like food shortages, poverty, and unemployment. He introduced the Green Revolution to tackle food scarcity and guided India well during the 1965 war with Pakistan.
He believed in self-reliance and fought against social issues like the dowry system and caste discrimination. Shastri ji read about foreign theories by Marx, Russell, and Lenin, and he was arrested during the non-cooperation movement.
He played a crucial role in various movements led by Mahatma Gandhi, including the “Salt Satyagraha.” His dedication to India’s progress and freedom was exceptional.
Lal Bahadur Shastri was awarded the Bharat Ratna after his passing in 1966. He died of a heart attack, just after signing the Tashkent Pact with Pakistan. He will always be remembered as a great Prime Minister of India.
